We can't wait for you to join us for a great day of community re-connection and fun with our 3km run, roll or stroll followed by BBQ picnic and entertainment for all!
The event will be held at the Bowling Green at Parramatta Park, near the Gatehouse Tea Rooms. The Bowling Green is easily accessible with onsite parking, graded paths and flat grass area. There are accessible toilets and a large shade area for relaxing out of the elements.
Our 3km loop course is accessible to all - you can even bring your dog along! It is a paved, flat loop that circles through beautiful Parramatta Park with views of bush, wetlands and interesting sculptures along the way. There will also be a 1.5km loop for those with mobility concerns. Water stations, toilets and rest areas will be located along the route as well. We'll have cheer squads and volunteers along the way to mark the path and encourage you towards the finish line!
Laugh, learn and reconnect with friends in our event village with fun and entertainment for all! We'll have community information stalls, giant lawn games, roving performers, coffee card and BBQ picnic for everyone's enjoyment.
Parking and public transport
There are a number of free parking spaces right next to the Bowling Green, including accessible parking spots. Please arrive early to secure your space.
Parramatta Park is on the western edge of the Parramatta CBD and is an easy walk from Parramatta and Westmead railway stations or the Rivercat terminal and is serviced by the free Parramatta Shuttle bus.
Please find complete transport information on the park's website here.
What to bring
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a day outside and suitable for the run/roll/stroll. We encourage fancy dress and cheer props if you'll be celebrating from the sidelines. Bring a re-usable water bottle, sun cream, picnic blanket and spare cash or card for donations or additional purchases. Please also bring any additional or specialty food or drinks you might require in addition to the BBQ.
We are committed to ensuring the Big Red Roll + Stroll is a Covid-19 safe event, and have a number of procedures in place to secure everyone's safety, which you can read about here.
Photographs and video
There will be a photographer and videographer onsite, and photos and videos taken may be used by MDNSW for future promotions. During your registration you were asked to accept our specific Photography and Videography Statement conditions, which will apply to the event day. Please advise MDNSW staff when you check in if you or anyone in your party would not like to be photographed or filmed, so we can identify you to the photographer.
If you are unable to join us for the Parramatta Park event we invite you to take part in the Big Red Roll + Stroll virtually from your own community. We encourage you to invite family and friends to join you, by registering online and all participating together.
You can host your own Big Red Roll + Stroll with your crew on the same day and time as the main event, so that we can all share in the fun togehter as we roll and stroll at the same time, post our photos together online, and celebrate the day virtually together. But in the end it's up to you - you can host your virtual Big Red Roll + Stroll anytime it works for you and your team mates.
