We believe people living with a neuromuscular conditions deserve specialised support, and a community that understands them. We understand that a new diagnosis, or a change in your condition can make you them feel anxious and alone. That’s why for over 60 years, we’ve connected people across NSW living with neuromuscular conditions to the support programs they want, and the community they need.

Muscular Dystrophy refers to a group of 70+ genetic neuromuscular disorders characterised by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. It is caused by mutations in genes that play a crucial role in the structure and function of muscle fibres.
Neuromuscular conditions can affect people at different stages of their lives and onset of symptoms can occur from birth to adulthood. The severity, onset, and progression of Muscular Dystrophy can vary widely depending on the type of condition, and often results in progressive deterioration of muscle strength and function, loss of mobility, pain, fatigue and more.
